What spurred our teleaudiology services? Back in April, when ‘Stay at Home’ orders were put in place across Alabama, many audiologists and hearing care professionals closed their doors, resulting in many people struggling to find the help or advice they needed.

At Alabama Hearing Associates, we are always looking for innovative ways to help patients and deliver award-winning care and during those “stay at home” moments, we wanted to reach out to our patients through Teleaudiology.’

What is teleaudiology?

Both new and current patients have been able to have face-to-face appointments with our Doctors of Audiology via video call by using their Smart Phone, Tablet, or PC.

This allows them to stay safe, stay home, and continue to receive the care, support, and professional guidance they’ve come to expect from Alabama Hearing Associates.

Although we first introduced this service to respond to the global pandemic, this service has proved essential for those who simply cannot make an in-office appointment due to work commitments or travel issues.

For this reason, our Teleaudiology services will remain a permanent offering at Alabama Hearing Associates so that we can continue to cater to all that require our services, wherever that may be.

More recently, we are receiving calls from people concerned about their hearing and looking for advice or people who have purchased hearing devices elsewhere but need help.

Equally, the challenges posed by face masks have resulted in a wave of people contacting us with their newly discovered concerns.

That’s why we are proud to introduce ‘Ask The Audiologist Teleaudiology Appointments.’

These informative 15-minute appointments have been introduced to help those who need our professional advice and support during these difficult times.

Has the extended time at home caused you to question your hearing?

Maybe it has brought to light some communication challenges you didn’t notice before?

Are your loved ones moaning about the volume of the television or accusing you of not paying attention?

Are your hearing devices (that were purchased elsewhere) not working, and your current provider or store is not available to help?

The ideal first step should be to schedule a complimentary Teleaudiology appointment to speak to a highly-trusted Doctor of Audiology.
